Flores
by Annemie Vanzieleghem

With the FLORES design mirror, you finally get the chance to purchase a famous piece of antique art. The combination of the romantic image and the screen-printing technique also gives this mirror a modern edge. The original artwork is by Jan Davidsz de Heem (17th century): "Still life with flowers in a glass vase". De Heem lived in Utrecht and Antwerp and the work is exhibited in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. By transforming the still life into greyscale and combining it with a mirror, the whole gets a mysterious touch. The drawing of the artwork gradually blends into the oval mirrored surface.
