Echo Black
by Maarten De Ceulaer

Maarten de Ceulaer designed the ECHO mirror for Deknudt Mirrors. The name refers to the series of adjacent tubular frames, which give the visual impression of a fading echo. The tubes connect only at the top and bottom, which allows to see through the work from the side. The unique way in which the tubes form a sculpture is a nod to modernist tubular furniture. One mirror faces forward and a second one backwards, meaning that the reflections can be viewed from either side, each creating a very different experience. Echo is available in black, white or yellow. This freestanding design mirror can also be fixed to the wall if required.

About the designer

Maarten De Ceulaer

Maarten is known for the highly evocative, poetic, and playful touch he gives his objects. He uses his work to tell stories, to stir people’s emotions, to inspire their imagination and to make them wonder. He continuously explores new materials and investigates in production techniques and crafts. The emotional aspect of objects is equally important as the functional, and he has great attention for detail. He likes to use materials in unconventional ways, and his objects never cease to surprise.
